Flowers in the Rain

From the Collection:THE GARDEN OF PANAGIOTIS These photos were taken on July 15th 2014 – They are from the Collection: THE HOUSE OF PANAGIOTIS – I started this project in an attempt to immortalize my father’s creative work in his garden. I predict he will love the natural, vibrant colors the camera captured on this rainy day. So, the first row is for my dad. The second one is my attempt to emphasize the distinct lines, shapes, and even try to capture the soul of each flower. I don’t know if I succeeded, but I had to give it a try. … Continue reading Flowers in the Rain

The Bike Ride

The Bike Ride by Martin Hanley Roaring and kissing the wind, Alone yet alive, the landscape greets you. And then you fall and kiss the asphalt, tears of pain well – in your eyes. And your knees weep; blood seeping. Searing the burn begins –  and you remember; your father once cycled over a hundred miles to see a hurling match: A game – a final, when the world was at war. No petrol. Remember

Remember by Christina Rossetti Remember me when I am gone away, Gone far away into the silent land; When you can no more hold me by the hand, Nor I half turn to go, yet turning stay. Remember me when no more day by day You tell me of our future that you plann’d: Only remember me; you understand It will be late to counsel then or pray. Yet if you should forget me for a while And afterwards remember, do not grieve: For if the darkness and corruption leave A vestige of the thoughts that once I had, … Continue reading Remember

Line Breaks : Snap

Line Breaks : Snap by Maria Fokas There is a freedom, in the face of truth – whether it is soothing to the heart or not, it will always set you free. You rage against the pain. At first, you don’t understand why. You try to go back, and recount your steps; was it my fault, you might ask yourself. But in time, what made you sad will subside. The scent of sunlight will wash your tears away; the bitter taste, will disappear – I promise you that. And they will resurface; all the dreams you had neglected; as platonic … Continue reading Line Breaks : Snap

Samsara

Samsara by Maria Fokas With a torch in one hand and a key in the other, she stands alone before a crossroad. The paths are glowing below the full-moonlight sky; with her first step, she opens her eyes, again. She cries between lives and dances between deaths. She claims that nothing is ever lost – but that is never the case. She recalls three forms – past, present, and future; as blessed souls, return to the other side. Her travels are spread across the continents, with no care in the world, searching for a friendly face, but they have become so scarce. … Continue reading Samsara
